euro-os

EuroOS is a sovereign operating system for Europe, built entirely from scratch in Rust.

It is not another Linux distribution with a European logo. The bootloader, kernel, filesystem, network stack, desktop and office suite are all original code, in one open repository. No inherited codebase, no hidden data flows, no telemetry. Security is built into the kernel instead of bolted on, and the disk is encrypted by default.

It already runs: a calm, friendly desktop, an office suite, sovereign AI agents that work completely offline, all 24 official EU languages, and storage that reads the disks and network shares you already have. It even runs unmodified Linux programs through a compatibility bridge, while the sovereign core stays the real surface. Everything is open source under the EUPL-1.2 and governed in Europe.

It is early, and it is really running.

Why support it? EuroOS is built in the open by a small team. Your contribution pays for development time, test hardware and infrastructure, and it keeps the project independent: accountable to the people who use it, not to a foreign platform or an advertising business model.
